NICHD uses grants and contracts to support research on topics related to its mission. This research is conducted by universities and other academic research centers in the United States and abroad.

The institute also supports a variety of training and career development opportunities at NICHD and at other institutions. Research programs of the NICHD. [Bethesda, Md.]: Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare Public Health Service, National Institutes of Health, (OCoLC) The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH.

The over-arching goal of this NICHD R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation’s biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs.

This monograph is a synthesis of research findings of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development research program concerning how children learn to read, why some children and adults have difficulties learning to read, and effective ways to help children learn to read.

The review covered studies performed over the last 33 years at 41 research sites throughout the world with Cited by: Research Grants are defined as extramural awards made for Research Centers, Research Projects, Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR), and Other Research Grants.

Research Grants are defined by the following activity codes: R, P, M, S, K, U (excluding UC6), DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, DP5, D42, & G Based on decades of NICHD research on parenting, this page booklet gives parents the tools they need to make their own decisions about successful parenting.

The booklet provides real-world examples and stories about how some families include responding, preventing, monitoring, modeling, and mentoring in their own daily parenting activities. The Office of the Director is the central office at NIH for its 27 Institutes and Centers.
